Cultural Competencies: What They are & Why They are Important

Many employers know that inclusivity makes a difference in workplace culture, productivity, recruitment and innovation. What they are not as clear about is how to implement strategies to develop cultural competencies across employee levels and experiences. This workshop will introduce participants to the skillset and mindset of cultural competency and strategies for its development that are actionable and sustainable, making it part of the workplace culture.

Participants will be introduced to:

• Reasons for why it matters to implement a cultural competency development strategy in the workplace

• Evidence in a workplace that cultural competency is and is not part of the culture

• Skillset and mindset of cultural competency

• Strategies to implement the development of cultural competencies
