National Disability Awareness Month Celebration

The National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a nationwide campaign held throughout the month of October that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities, past and present. Not only does it recognize the contributions of people with disabilities this event also recognizes employers or businesses who employ people with disabilities.

This year's celebration will be held at the Best Western Ramkota and offers a full day of educational and inspiring sessions. For only $50 you can attend all day or any of the offered opportunities. The day starts at 7:30am with refreshments and vender booths in the hotel lobby. At 8:30 the Rocky Mountain ADA Center will present on Accomodating Employees with Disabilities, including the topic of service and/or comfort animals. You will not want to miss Minnesota Super Lawyer Penelope Phillips as she addresses Employment Law and answers your questions. The celebration luncheon is being held in the Exhibit Hall at 12:15pm, followed immediately by inspirational speaker and South Dakota native Jason Freeman and his message "Doing Your Imperfect Best at Work." Attorney Penelope Phillips will wrap up the day presenting on the Interactive Process with Employers.
