Denise has a strong marketing and learning development background stemming from her tenures as Vice President for BASF Corporation, Crown Worldwide Holdings and Bank of America during the past 20 years. With significant experience in corporate marketing and human resources, Denise brings a strong understanding of strategic marketing and business operations, which will allow her to understand corporate employment and workforce needs.
Denise is an alumnus of Catholic University and Cornell University, and lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Steve, Deputy General Counsel for SONIFI Solutions, and twin daughters Ava Marie and Juliana Rose, sixth graders at Saint Mary's Catholic Elementary School. As the Director of Talent and Workforce Development for the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, Sara plays a meaningful role in implementing the Forward Sioux Falls strategic workforce action agenda, which aims to develop and to advance the workforce within the city of Sioux Falls. Specifically, Sara works to foster and maintain relationships between area employers and educational institutions, both at the K-12 and the post-secondary levels, in order to develop and retain the area's talented students.
Sara's background in higher education as an instructor of English and communication allows her to routinely measure the pulse of industry demands and uniquely equips her work in coordinating programming that is capable of nimbly responding to the needs of the developing workplace in the greater Sioux Falls region.
A South Dakota native, Sara is a graduate of Augustana University and the University of South Dakota. She lives in Sioux Falls and raises two sons, Lionel and Quincy, alongside her husband Jordan, a Systems Engineer for Avera Health.
